Hardwari Lal Government College, Chhara stands as a significant educational
institution serving the rural population in the Jhajjar district of
Haryana. Established in 2012, this co-educational government college
has been instrumental in providing higher education opportunities to students
from rural backgrounds in the region and to strengthen the higher
education ecosystem in rural areas of the state. The college is named after Chaudhary Hardwari Lal, who was an Indian politician, lawyer, and a educationist from Haryana. He served as cabinet minister in Government of Haryana. He was also elected to the Lok Sabha in 1984.The college is affiliated
with Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and operates under the
Department of Higher Education, Government of Haryana. Located in Chhara
village in the Bahadurgarh block of Jhajjar district, the institution
exemplifies the government's commitment to extending quality
higher education to rural areas, thereby reducing educational disparities
between urban and rural communities, transforming the educational
landscape of the district.
The college was established in 2012 offering BA degree w.e.f. session 2012-13 in rural area of Chhara village, with affiliation from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana. In session 2015-16, B.Com. was started and from year 2021, B.Sc. (Medical) and B.Sc. Non-Medical streams were started. NEP 2020 has been implemented in the college with w.e.f. session 2024-25.
